As you age, you begin to lose volume in your cheeks and your lips, which leaves a lack of substance and reduces your previous glow. Flattened cheeks, thin lips, and sagging skin are a natural, normal part of aging. However, for women and men that want a subtle boost to restore their confidence and keep their facial features full and symmetrical, dermal fillers are a viable option. While medical-grade skin care and regular esthetic services can help with the aging process, injectables such as dermal fillers can offer more instantaneous and noticeable results.
The most popular category of dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. It helps keep skin plump and hydrated. HA fillers are typically soft and gel-like with the results lasting 6 to 12 months or longer before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles. Each type of dermal filler works in a slightly different way and are used for specific treatments areas. AgeLess Medical uses the following types of dermal filler to give you the best results:
- Juvederm Ultra & XC
- Juvederm Volbella
- Juvederm Voluma
- Juvederm Vollure
- Restylane-L
- Restylane Lyft
- Restylane Defyne
- Restylane Refyneļ»æ
CONSULTATION:
During your consultation, Jill Girany, NP-C, will evaluate your areas of concern and review your medical history. While the risks associated with dermal fillers are minimal, you need to fully disclose your medical history prior to treatment, as certain allergies, skin and neurological conditions, or medications can jeopardize your safety or results. Every treatment is specific to the patient, and the amount of filler will vary to achieve beautiful, full results while maintaining a natural appearance. Jill will create a customized treatment plan during your consultation and review pre and post-care with you so that you are prepared for your treatment.
TREATMENT:
Just before the actual treatment, Jill will clean the area and then will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area prior to injection. Many filler products also contain lidocaine, a mild anesthetic, which is intended to help minimize discomfort during and after your treatment. Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving filler injections. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling, but these are temporary and should subside over the days following treatment. You will be able to go back to your normal activities right after treatment, but it is advised to take the day off from exercise or other strenuous activities.
If you feel like you need that extra boost to help with your volume loss or aging appearance, call AgeLess Medical to schedule your consultation with Jill Girany, NP-C, and restore that youthful appearance.
