What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a bio-stimulator injectable that is used to restore facial volume loss due to aging. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a biocompatible synthetic substance that stimulates collagen synthesis in Sculptra. It can be used to treat creases, deep lines, and folds to give you a more youthful appearance. Because Sculptra stimulates your body’s production of collagen, this treatment is a gradual improvement with a few treatments over several weeks.
What is the difference between dermal fillers and Sculptra?
Generally, fillers are HA, or hyaluronic acid-based products that fill in wrinkles and creases beneath the dermis. Results of dermal fillers appear immediately and can last up to several months.
Sculptra on the other hand, diminishes wrinkles by restoring the skin's deep, underlying structure. The results of Sculptra appear gradually over the treatment regime and can last up to two years.
