WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling, also called dermarolling or collagen induction therapy, is a treatment that involves using a pen covered with tiny needles to create tiny punctures in your skin. AgeLess Medical uses SkinPen® by Bellus Medical, the first FDA-cleared microneedling device. The tiny holes created by SkinPen don’t damage your outer layer of skin but do trigger your body’s own wound-healing mechanisms. Immediately following microneedling, your skin becomes slightly inflamed with increased blood flow and the creation of new tissue. In the next few days, your skin then builds new cells and creates new networks of blood vessels.

Does Microneedling hurt?

Microneedling treatments take about 30 minutes. Some patients describe the procedure as mildly uncomfortable, but most tolerate the treatment quite well. We will apply a topical numbing cream to ease your discomfort if needed.

How many Microneedling sessions are needed to see results?

The number of Microneedling sessions required can vary depending on individual skin concerns. Typically, a series of 3 to 6 treatments, spaced out 4 to 6 weeks apart, is recommended for optimal results. However, noticeable improvements can often be seen even after a single session.

How long do the results of Microneedling last?

The results of Microneedling can last anywhere from 6 months to a year or more, depending on the individual's skin type and the number of treatments they have had.

How much downtime is required after a Microneedling session?

You will have little to no downtime following a microneedling session. You may have some redness and irritation for a few days after treatment, and these side effects resolve on their own. We will provide you with a post-microneedling product to help with any discomfort or redness for the first few days. We would suggest scheduling this treatment 10-14 days prior to an event or vacation.
